Technologies

In order to provide nothing but the best to our patients, our office uses state-of-the-art technologies in all our procedures. These new technologies allow us to detect dental concerns at early stages, treat your dental issues with precision, and provide stunning and customized restorations. Our premium dental software system maximizes your time and our office efficiency. When you visit our office you can be confident that you are receiving the finest and most advanced in dental care.

Diagnodent is a portable laser that allows us to detect cavities on the chewing surface of the back teeth that would have otherwise gone undetected by previous methods. By using this device, cavities can be accurately detected and treated in their infancy.

The soft tissue laser provides:

  • Treatment of canker sores and herpes (cold sores)
  • Immediate comfort
  • In office whitening – accelerated treatment time
  • Temporary relief of pain
  • Cosmetic gum tissue recontouring

Our office is a completely digital (paperless) dental office. This means all x-rays and charting are made and recorded with the aid of the computer. This technology allows us to maintain your dental records electronically, and cuts down the unnecessary paperwork used with traditional paper charting. Traditional paper charting is difficult to keep standardized from doctor to hygienist to assistant. Even handwriting differences and coding make the charts look different. The computer eliminates this problem by using consistent charting methods that are accurate and precise, making it easy to read your dental chart and see up-to-date information. Digital charting standardizes the charting process so it is clear, easy to understand, and enables us to provide the most accurate and precise care to our patients. When needed, this method also allows us to quickly and securely share information with your other health care providers.

Why VELscope?

The VELscope system helps dental professionals visualize abnormalities in the mucosal tissues of your lips, mouth and upper throat. In just two minutes, with no rinses, stains or discomfort, a VELscope examination lets healthcare professionals improve their assessment of your overall oral health. Make sure that your mouth is as healthy as it can possibly be. The next time you visit your dentist or hygienist, ask for a VELscope exam.

How Does the VELscope Work?

The VELscope's blue light "excites" molecules (called "fluorophores") deep within the layers of oral mucosal tissues. In turn, those fluorophores emit their own light (fluorescence), in shades of green, yellow and red. The VELscope's proprietary filter makes fluorescence visualization possible, by blocking reflected blue light, and by enhancing the contrast between normal and abnormal tissue.

Winnetka Dental uses a computerized anesthesia system called STA or Single Tooth Anesthesia. The STA system allows Dr. Dreebin to numb one single tooth, as opposed to the entire side of your mouth and jaw.

Our office utilizes electronic claims processing. This means that rather than sending your dental claim through the mail, it is sent electronically to your insurance company. We are able to attach digital x-rays and photos to your claim. By filing your claim, with x-rays, electronically, information is submitted more efficiently and with fewer errors.

This benefits our patients because the turn around time on claims is faster and fewer claims are returned or denied. We are happy to submit your dental claims to your insurance company on your behalf.

We are also happy to call your insurance company to verify your benefits so you are aware of what is covered, and electronically submit pre-estimates on proposed treatment.

We use a small camera about the size of an electric toothbrush, called an intraoral camera, to help clearly see and diagnose dental problems much earlier than with traditional dental technology.

We use Demandforce, an automated appointment reminder system that will email you ten days prior to your scheduled appointment time and again two days prior to your scheduled appointment. Please confirm your appointment by clicking on the green "Confirm" button. If you do not confirm, our office staff will contact you to confirm your scheduled visit. If you are not at home, a message will be left on your voicemail. Text message reminders to cell phones are also available through the Demandforce system. We reserve your scheduled time exclusively for you. No charge will be made for cancellation of an appointment if a 24 hour notice is given.

ADS Extraoral Dental Suction System

As an additional measure to ensure the health and safety of our patients and staff, we have installed an extraoral suction system in each of our operatories. This system works to reduce droplet and aerosol spray created by various dental procedures and routine dental care. It includes a medical-grade HEPA filter and UVC lights that capture and kill bacteria and viruses, leaving the expelled air clean and dry.
